A new year is 365 more chances to change your life. It’s that time of year when we find ourselves looking back on the past and thinking about things we would like to do differently next year. There is always room for improvement. Here are a few more popular new years resolutions along with an idea of how to achieve them if they are on your list!
Become more confident!
What’s the difference between the person who looks like they have it all together and yourself? Besides acting like they have it all together, nothing. Confidence is visible, and if you exude it, other people can see it on you. Studies who that confident people are more likely to be seen, heard and valued, which makes them genuinely happier. All it takes is a change in mental attitude.
Get more quality sleep!
There are two kinds of people; early risers and night owls. No matter the time of day you spend away whether it’s in the daylight or nightlight you both need equal amounts of sleep. There are things you can do to make sure your 8 hours are uninterrupted. Falling asleep with the TV on, checking your phone throughout the night, and leaving music on may seem like great idea but it disrupts a healthy REM cycle. Try turning all your devices off, you will notice the difference in energy, stress and dopamine levels.
Go see your doctor more often!
If your mom doesn’t make an appointment for you – does a doctor even exist? Yes, they do. Going to see the doctor at least once a year should be high on your priority list. Most of us wait until something is wrong to visit, but yearly checkups can help you discover a problem before it becomes an actual problem. As with anything, regular maintenance will only prolong life.
Learn to control your emotions!
Emotions can get in the way of decision making. Which is probably why you’ve asked yourself how you ever stayed with an ex of yours. Love, Anger, Jealousy, and other intense emotions can get you into trouble you would normally avoid if you had been thinking clearly. Learning how to control your emotions and not let them cloud your judgement is what makes a great businessperson, grocery shopper, and poker player.
Face your fears and insecurities!
Going into the new year, this should be one of your main priorities. Everything that worth having is on the other side of fear. Insecurities only fuel the fear that you are not good enough for a job, a person, or a lifestyle. When you do something that you’ve been scared to do, you will always come out the other side better for it. Comfort is the enemy of growth, and if you want something you’ve never had before, you have to do something you’ve never done before.
